International Seminar and Networking Session with Associate Professor El‑Maghrabey of Mansoura University, Egypt — An Alumnus of Nagasaki University’s Doctoral Program

On Thursday, January 29, an international seminar titled “From Agricultural Waste to Planetary Health: A Sustainable Nanosensor Platform for Simultaneous Dual Sensing of Agrochemical Pollutants” was held at the Yeh Kuo-Shii Global Friendship Center on Nagasaki University’s Bunkyo Campus. The seminar welcomed Associate Professor Mahmoud Hamed El-Maghrabey of Mansoura University, Egypt, who is an alumnus of Nagasaki University’s doctoral program, as the guest speaker.

During the seminar, Dr. El-Maghrabey presented research on nanomaterials made from banana peels that can simultaneously detect pesticides and heavy metals. Faculty, staff, and students from a diverse range of fields attended the seminar, engaging in a lively question-and-answer session.

At the subsequent networking session, participants had the opportunity to interact in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

This event was hosted by the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Pharmaceutics, in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagasaki University, and was co-organized by NUGAN (Nagasaki University Global Alumni Network). NUGAN will continue to organize and support similar international events in the future.
