August 12, 2024 marked the inaugural launch of Nagasaki Summer Program Course 2! Students from all over came to experience and learn more about the unique culture of Nagasaki!
On the first day students came together, learned about what they will be learning through the program, and got to know more about each other. Toward the end of a travel-packed day, everyone attended a local performance of “Goto Kagura,” a votive dance unique to the region and learned what it means to the community during the Obon holiday when they remember their ancestors.
And of course they got to enjoy a bit of Goto’s lovely beaches in between!
