Purpose
This program aims to train experts in the field of disaster and radiation medical sciences for Japan, Russia, and the rest of the world.
Universities and research institutions in Russia and Belarus, including North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, a federal state institution of higher education in Russia that suffered damage during the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster 31 years ago, Nagasaki University, and Fukushima Medical University, which was affected by the accident at TEPCO’s (Tokyo Electric Power Co., Ltd.) Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, work together to cultivate experts in the field of disaster and radiation medical sciences.
