NUGAN: Taiwan Chapter

Preparations for the establishment of the chapter were led by Professor Hsu Chao-tsen (who graduated from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Nagasaki University in 1992), the first Dean of the College of Medicine at I-Shou University in Taiwan and current Director of the Department of Pathology at I-Shou Hospital. A wide range of members attended the establishment party, including graduates and postgraduates from our undergraduate and graduate schools, former exchange students and those who have participated in short-term programs.

The establishment ceremony for the chapter was held in Taipei in October 2024, and was attended by members of the Nagasaki University Alumni Association Taiwan Chapter, alumni including graduates of the double degree program between the Graduate School of Science and Technology (Fisheries and Environmental Sciences) at Nagasaki University and Taiwanese universities, faculty and staff from partner universities in Taiwan, and guests from relevant government agencies in Taiwan. From Nagasaki University, there were participants from the Faculty of Multicultural Studies, the Faculty of Economics, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Institute for Future Innovation in Marine Science and Technology, and other faculties, including Trustee Masako Ito (in charge of student and international affairs), making for a total of about 50 people.
