Training of Ca’ Foscari University (Venice, Italy) staff at Nagasaki University

From December 4th to the 8th, Dr. Enrico Marcato, an administrative staff member overseeing international exchange at Ca’ Foscari in Venice, participated in a training program conducted by Nagasaki University to become more well-versed in project design in his field of occupation.

Ca’ Foscari University and Nagasaki University signed an Agreement on Academic Cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 2014, and have been conducting active exchange since then; every year, three to five Nagasaki University students go abroad to study in Venice and a similar number of Ca’ Foscari students come to Japan to study at Nagasaki University. The duration of this study abroad program ranges from six months to one year.

During the training, Dr. Marcato participated in discussions regarding the international exchange activities of the two universities and learned about Nagasaki University’s planetary health initiatives and overseas education/research stations in Africa. He also met with students of Ca’ Foscari who are currently studying abroad at Nagasaki University, and talked to students from Nagasaki University who plan to study at Ca’ Foscari University in the near future. These face-to-face meetings proved to be a great opportunity for Nagasaki University staff and students to get more acquainted with one another as well. If only we could all go to Venice!
